Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16she already landed several television roles, which included the leading role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall won an Oscar and won critical and commercial popularity. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film that features this stunning actress. Alexandra is well-known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. These projects include the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she was a member of both The Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
